The Speas Garage Gym was established in 2021 simply to be able to workout while being close to family and keeping an eye on the kids. After getting a taste for compound lifts and signing up for a local strongman competition, this gym quickly became focused on the sport of strongman. From atlas stones, sandbags, yoke and farmers handles to log and axle, everything you need to get strong is here!

The most solid feeling adjustable dumbbells when they are locked into place. They are simply not very quick to change weights.

Outstanding bar, great option for squatting without the stress on the shoulders or wrists getting under a straight bar. The camber will allow the weights to swing and make you work extra hard to stabilize it during the squat. Knocked off points for value given this is probably lower on the list of essential bars in the home gym space but if it fits your needs, go for it especially if you can find a deal on the used market.

Anywhere you need a floor covering in your gym, the good old horse stall mat is all you need. Harkens to when we were a proper country

Super cool deadlift bar, aggressive knurl and a little more flex than a Texas deadlift bar. If you powerlift competitively you make want to check your federation, they likely do not use this bar. Fun for the gym and for strongman where you may encounter just about any kind of bar out there!

Great for “functional training” if you have very little equipment, you can find a way to train every body part. In a strength training scenario this is a less helpful tool but I still use occasionally trx rows and squats to warm up
