Weider Vintage Weight Plates

Weider Vintage Weight Plates

Joe Weider, a leading bodybuilding promoter who helped launch Arnold Schwarzenegger’s career, once approached Andy Jackson to collaborate on a weight set. In the 1950s, Jackson’s small operation was producing the best weight sets in America. The story goes that Jackson helped Weider, but Weider reneged on the deal and stole the design. The set, briefly advertised in 1954, features an incredible crosshub design, with every plate marked down to 2.5 lbs. It’s now known that these sets were also produced later in Canada for a limited time.

They’re exactly the weight they say they are. Also excellent for hub lifting. A little pricey for 70 year old plates though
