Vintage York Squat Stands
These are vintage no longer in production. Not all that practical for use given modern rack solutions, but they still look cool. People will often retrofit them into chalk bowl stands, etc.

I have aquires a few pairs of these over the last decade and always ended up selling them off. They just don’t offer any real functionality in my gym. I did use a pair once to store my curl bar but that was short lived. If I didn’t already have an awesome chalk bowl I’d consider making one out of these and a stainless mixing bowl.

I have a few old squat stands, and I’ll admit—they’re a vibe. I use one set to hold my curl bar, and another old pair is currently serving as deadlift bar storage. They’re versatile in the sense that you can repurpose them for just about anything.
That said, let me be clear: for their actual intended purpose, holding weight while you squat. They are not something I’d trust unless you have a death wish. Stability and confidence are not part of the package.
On the bright side, their usefulness doesn’t end there. I’ve even converted one into a chalk bowl, which might honestly be its highest and best use.
In summary: great aesthetic, surprisingly versatile for storage and random gym creativity, but absolutely not something I’d recommend for serious lifting.
