Product Variants

Designed as an all-purpose barbell, the Ohio Bar excels in every movement—from the bench, squat, and deadlift to the clean, snatch, and everything in between. There is a reason that this barbell has been used at every CrossFit Games since its introduction in 2013 and is found in functional fitness gyms across the globe. Whether you're searching for the best barbell for your home gym or outfitting a facility, the Ohio Bar has you covered and is backed by a lifetime warranty. Every Ohio Bar is meticulously machined and assembled in Columbus, OH using US steel that strikes the perfect balance between whip for Olympic lifts and rigidity for heavy Powerlifting. The 190,000 PSI tensile strength shaft features dual knurl marks for Olympic Weightlifting (IWF) and Powerlifting (IPF), and our signature Ohio knurling pattern that is carefully refined for a solid yet non-abrasive grip suitable for multi-purpose strength training.

I owned a black zinc Ohio Bar for several years before finding a smoking deal on a stainless steel version and upgrading. One of the best and most affordable general purpose bars on the market. Owned 2017-2025

Great hybrid bar. Has handled benching, deadlifting, overhead pressing, and Olympic lifts without functional issues. The black zinc, however, has worn off, especially where my shins contact the bar during deadlift. It's only cosmetic, so it's not an issue for me. The knurling is passive, but that's what I prefer for this type of bar.

The barbell that started the gym. It’s got a lot of hours on it and honestly there isn’t much to complain about it. The knurling isn’t as sharp as a Texas Power Bar but its is pretty darn good. Even during training sessions that would get very sweaty the bar performed well. - Big JonnyP

A good all around bar. It was the first bar I had in my home gym even before a power bar. I think unless you are training for powerlifting this is a better buy than a power bar. I would say this has a passive but grippy knurling. You can still do SBD with it, but can also front squat and overhead press with it much more comfortably because there’s no center knurling.

This is a pretty good multipurpose bar. I no longer have one in my gym as I am mostly only doing powerlifting movements other than occasional power cleans. I still use these bars at work. They are built well and the knurling, while passive, feels pretty grippy.
