Mammoth Belt Squat

Mammoth Belt Squat

The Mammoth Belt Squat is a powerful strength building rack attachment designed to maximize leg strength while minimizing strain on the back and shoulders. By transferring the load to your hips, the Mammoth Belt Squat removes the weight from your back and shoulders completely, allowing you to get into a deeper, more natural squat. It also allows you to train legs at higher volumes without being limited by back fatigue. With an adjustable length from 39" to 48.75", the Mammoth Belt Squat attachment provides the full functionality of a commercial belt squat machine without the need for a costly, space consuming commercial unit.

I've really enjoyed my time with the Mammoth. I can get real deep with it and the additions of the dual weight horn, swan neck and kick stand really add to the value. If you can get this with one of the many sales Fringe's does, it is a worth while addition to the gym.

I like this but my wife really likes it. Belt squat is a nice way to change up squat routine. This takes up no space which is a big plus. We have the dual weight horn add on which helps a lot even with just making it easier to changed plates. We also have the swan neck which has been nice for storing and moving side to side if we need to adjust to get out of the way of something else. The kickstand we have also but I almost feel like that is a default and not really an add on as I think everyone needs that. My wife still did not like how far down she had to squat and pick up the weight to start so she put a small wooden block on the floor and kickstand sits on it so it lets her start as 0 resistance and then when she moves the kickstand she can start the set. We have it attached to a Rogue Monster Strip off of a wall so lets us use it wall mounted and not rack mounted but not fixed on the wall as we can move it up and down the monster strip.

The Mammoth belt squat has been a great addition for squats. Yes it’s on an arc but I have found it to work just fine if you don’t mount it too high. I prefer knee height as it provides the shortest arc. I only use the single post and don’t have an issue with leg clearance, but I use inexpensive iron plates that have a smaller diameter. So the plates can stack deeper and don’t get in my way. I think this is a great low cost option for saving your back. Use the full length to get the most resistance out of it (physics class wasn’t a total waste) and give your back a rest. And even with the kickstand it tucks out of my way just laying it along the side of my rack.

This is a lever style belt squat attachment. I purchased it new from Fringe and used it though a back injury I was dealing with. It allowed me to squat, but I was not a fan of the fixed path that this level ultimately puts you in. I felt as if as soon as I started using it, my knees would start to feel cranky.

Probably the best of it's kind but not a substitute for a real belt squat if you have the space.

If you are wanting a belt squat, but don't have the room for a stand alone machine, then this would be the one I recommend. Set up is simple and the kick stand works great. You will still want a dedicated machine, but this will get the job done. Any others that were an attachment that I have tried were not even worth owning as the angle and set up was a pain.
