Calibrated KG Steel Plates

Calibrated KG Steel Plates

Machine calibrated for next-level precision, these durable cast-iron KG plates are accurate to within 10g in weight. Each disc is cut thin to allow for max loading capacity (up to 700+ KG) and color-coded for easy identification from a distance. The back of each plate includes calibration plugs (lead on smaller plates, brass on plates 5LB and up) for an ever greater level of precision. These plates feature a 50.40MM center hole for a snug fit on your barbell, and as a result may not fit on some cheaper barbells not held to spec. You can order your Rogue Calibrated KG Steel Plates in pairs or as a full set using the order column on this page.

They're thin, they're exact, and they subjectively look better with age. Added benefit: The scattered multicolored paint chips make your gym look like a post-rave event.

A little pricey when purchased new but you can typically find them on Marketplace pretty regularly. I purchased my off Marketplace during Covid and they have last me with no issues at all.

Great plates, at a not so great price. Calibrated plates are far from a necessity. If you obsess over practicing how you play, you'll appreciate knowing exactly how your lifts on the platform will feel. The Rogue Calibrated Plates, though imported, are very high quality and have held up well in my home gym. The paint is definitely chipping in places and will rub off the center hub almost as soon as you unbox them. The calibration weights are glued in so even though I've had some stickers nearly come all the way off there's been no sign of those falling out. Rogue will also send you replacement stickers free of charge if you contact their customer support.

Have held up nicely overtime. I like my set, would only upgrade to the Hansu Chromes but would want a set of color too so will probably have these forever.

Calibrated plates are very similar across brands. Most buying decisions will come down to aesthetic preference and price. Rogues plates aren’t the cheapest, but what hurts them is the additional shipping fee. I could understand this if they were made in USA or much different than other options, but they’re not. I have found the paint on mine held up better than some other brands.

At the time of this review, Rogue is transitioning to a new design for these plates. I like the new design more than these, but they are very similar so not something worth changing out for in my opinion. These are everything you want in a calibrated plate: accurate weight, thin so you can fit more weight on the bar, and have a sticker on them that makes them approved by whoever that matters for. Although these are very nice plates, the paint does chip over time. I don’t expect them not to, but I could see someone thinking that with how high of a price tag that is on them. You aren't paying that high for that feature. Same goes for moving them around the gym. The lip to grab is very small. Expect it to be challenging at first and needing to build up a tolerance to it over time. I am glad to have mine, but I don’t see much need for them in a gym that isn’t competing in power lifting. Even then, I think you will get as good training on normal, but still nice plates.
