I really like this bar for what it is. It is a fantastic power bar with aggressive knurling. To me I would have made this bar 45 lbs because it has traditional collars...if they wanted to make 20 kg bar with 29mm to appeal to powerlifting communities I would have liked to see competition sized collars....

The difference between the 29mm and original 28.5mm is negligible but the build quality is the same. Great bar.

Actually picked up a prototype from Texas Power Bars. The collar thickness is really the only difference and it was on sale for a great price. I like how sharp the knurling is and really like this bar for squatting, the bar stays put nicely. - Big JonnyP

Took them 40+ years but they finally gave the lifting community at powerlifting standard 29 mm power bar.

This has been my daily driver for over a year and I've loved every session with it. A classic design that has been refined to address modern trends in power bars. The knurling is aggressive compared to almost every other bar on the market. Since I'm the only person that uses the bar it looks as good as the day I got it. TPB frequently runs sales so watch out and you can probably save a little cash.

Can’t take anything away from this bar. I ordered this as a blemished bar and could find nothing wrong with it upon delivery. This bar has amazing, aggressive knurl and is my daily driver for squat and bench.

I'm biased here as I helped Buddy and team bring this bar to market, but it does a lot of things right. You get the classic TPB feel and look, but with some key changes of a slightly thicker diameter (29mm) and thinner collars (without being too thin). This makes the bar much more stiff under heavy load. The only downside here is that the roll pin design for adhering the sleeves tends to be a bit more noisy and has more play than a snap ring design.

This is kind of a gold standard power bar in my opinion. I'm obviously a TPB fan, but it doesn't get much better than this one to me.
